Deconstruction is an environmentally-friendly alternative to demolition of an existing house and can result in substantial tax savings for people having a new home built.


After dismantling an existing home to clear the way for a new home, the materials are donated to an area charity. The donation is then eligible to be claimed as a charitable tax deduction.
